Coronavirus-New Precautions to Protect our Clients, Carriers and Colleagues

Recognizing the ongoing and increased uncertainty that COVID-19 is causing around the world, the safety and wellbeing of our clients, carriers and colleagues remains our highest priority. As the situation continues to evolve, our leadership team is taking steps to ensure our approach is consistent with the guidance provided by The World Health Organization and CDC.

This virus spreads when people are exposed to large gatherings, and we are taking new precautions to create safer environments. Our actions are in support of CDC’s “All of Community” approach to slowing the community transmission of COVID-19 and flatten the rate of infection curve. Flattening the curve slows the rate at which new cases arrive in hospitals; thereby easing the burden on health care infrastructure and improving the odds that individual patients will survive. Event cancellations, social distancing and work-from-home strategies can be effective in reducing rate of infection. As a result, in being good partners with you, and the communities in which our respective businesses and employees reside, we are taking steps to reduce the concentration risk associated with traveling to, and gathering in, an office environment while ensuring we are able to maintain critical operations, including the important work that we do with you every day.

  • Less Travel. We are limiting travel for Aon colleagues through the end of April. We are committed to serving our clients to the best of our ability, so exceptions will be made, although Aon is encouraging colleagues to utilize our various technology platforms to connect with clients and carriers.
  • Fewer Colleagues Onsite. We have strongly encouraged our colleagues to work remotely as we continue to monitor the situation.
  • Enhanced Onsite Safety Procedures. Some roles can only be performed in an office or operational center. By asking other colleagues to work remotely, we are creating a safer environment for those who must be in our offices and operational centers by reducing the number of colleagues gathering in a single location.

As we continue to work with our geographical leaders to ensure we are responding to this situation accordingly, we have robust business continuity plans in place, and have every expectation that we will be able to deliver on behalf of our clients and carriers as we always do.
